Linn-Mar Life

Ruthie Gustason
Hi! My name is Ruthie Gustason, and I'm very excited about rebooting the Linn-Mar Life this year! In addition to the newspaper, I hold the office of Scribe for Thespian Troupe 680 and participate in show choir, Contest Speech, and Model UN. My biggest role models are my dad and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and the only thing those two have in common is that they are the coolest people in the whole world. I love to write, and while I have no idea what I want to do with my life, I know I want to spend it writing. I have a lot of favorite books, including A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith and anything written by Jacqueline Woodson. I know a lot more about the Modernist Movement in poetry than most people care to listen to, and I will probably end up writing a couple editorials about the importance of poetry in the modern world before the year is up. I can't wait to start writing, and I hope you enjoy what the Life publishes this school year!
